Dr Fadi Barrak is a Specialist in Oral Surgery with dual qualifications in Dentistry and Medicine, having graduated in Dentistry from the University of Bristol before completing his medical degree at Imperial College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, an Affiliate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh through the Diploma in Implant Dentistry, and a Fellow of both the International Team for Implantology and the College of General Dentistry. Since 1994, he has practised oral surgery across hospital and primary care settings, including senior hospital appointments in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at West Middlesex University Hospital and Ealing Hospital. He also completed a PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on the role of biomaterials in peri-implantitis, with research interests in implant biomaterials, peri-implant disease, and evidence-based clinical practice.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Barrak has made a significant contribution to postgraduate dental education and service development. He served as Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for the MSc in Clinical Implantology at the University of Central Lancashire, now the University of Lancashire, where he led curriculum development, quality assurance, and postgraduate supervision. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Visiting Specialist Services Ltd and VSSAcademy, organisations established to connect academic excellence with high-quality clinical service delivery and postgraduate training across the UK. He is also a trustee of two charities, one of which he founded, reflecting his wider commitment to education, service, and community impact.
